About Us
One Stop Finance was created in October 2009. The Company was founded uniting two existing companies, Magic Mortgages and Oyster Mortgages with the addition of Marcus Rolle from Chase De Vere Mortgages with over 30 years’ experience as a Mortgage Broker.
One Stop Finance has a great work ethic and most of the team have spent an average of 15 years in the industry. One Stop Finance has weathered the storm of the financial crisis and continues to grow and develop its ‘One Stop proposition’.
Over time we have grown the team so that we can offer additional specialist support in Buildings and Contents, Wills & Probate, Tax planning and Trusts.
The end result is that One Stop Finance truly is a One Stop Shop for all of your financial needs.
We believe that the experience and quality of our staff makes us stand out in a reasonably crowded market.
Marcus Rolle
Director
Marcus entered the financial services arena in 1983 when he became a ‘Life Inspector’ with Legal & General. Promoted after only a year, he enjoyed a secondment with the top salesperson for a couple of days, this friendship eventually led to him being head hunted by Chase De Vere in May 1985.
Marcus stayed with Chase De Vere until March 2009 when the effects of the Lehman Weekend in October 2008 finally brought down another ‘Independent Mortgage Advisor’ firm given the effects of the world financial recession.
His 24 years working in the West End let him define himself as someone with expert knowledge in his chosen field of mortgages and protection, with a broad understanding of other areas of financial & tax planning, which has enabled him to develop a loyal following of repeat business from his client base.
Creating One Stop Finance Group in 2009, with other like-minded colleagues, has let his clients have access to a broad portfolio of products and services. This has let him take his existing, and new, relationships to a new level.
One benefit of working from home has meant he enjoys a much shorter commute and can therefore have more family time with his wife, Mandy, and his two daughters. A keen tennis player, skier, and motor sport fan his other great love is his penchant for films.
Steve Burkin
Director, Mortgage & Protection Advisor
Prior to this, on leaving school, he studied at Leeds School of Architecture before pursuing a career in design, contracting with many national and international construction companies. This part of his life culminated in being a key member of the management buy-out team of the first MBO of a Local Authority direct labour organisation becoming Commercial Director.
Subsequently, he moved and headed up a 250 strong direct labour force for LB of Barnet. In 1998 he decided to make a career change and moved into financial services.
After periods with some of the leading providers in the industry, and a spell based offshore working with investments for ex patriots, he returned to the UK after 9/11 setting up his own financial services practice.
He has been a prime mover in setting up “One Stop Finance Group” and promoting the concept of being a provider of all areas of financial advice.
Mike Dimonaco
General Manager, Mortgage & Protection Advisor
Mike is the General Manager of One Stop Finance, and he operates as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser, with 41 years of experience in the finance industry.
Mike worked for two large life offices at a senior level before switching to run Magic Mortgages in November 2004, before this transitioned into One Stop Finance in 2009.
Mike’s Hometown is Hemel Hempstead, so he was keen to get involved with his local community to help have an influence, on a business, as well as on a personal level.
Mike is a keen sportsman loving most sports and although not twenty-one anymore he still loves his Rugby and makes an effort to keep up with his regular fitness regime.
Tony Balzan
Financial Planner, Mortgage & Protection Advisor
Tony brings over 25 years of experience to the business and his strong background in full financial planning brings great benefits to all our clients who need more than just mortgage and protection advice.
Tony is a keen Luton Town supporter and has two daughters who keep him busy when he is not at work and allow him to practice what he preaches in terms of financial planning.
Edgar Hill
Protection Advisor
He worked for Pearl Assurance for 17 years starting as a Sales Agent and worked his way up to Area Manager, after which he moved on to Zurich where he worked as a Financial Adviser for 11 years. Edgar then took a break from financial services and gave up his Financial Planning licenses.
However, Edgar past qualifications, when he was an Independent Financial Advisor, means that he has a wealth of experience that he can apply in his role with One Stop Finance as a Specialist Protection Adviser.
Edgar enjoys his free time with his partner and two daughters. He has been an active participant in the workings of St. Albans, as a Councillor for 10 years, and was privileged to represent the City as it’s Mayor in 2021/22. He’s also a keen Golfer whenever he gets the time!
Neil Harris
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
Given his time with One Stop Neil has developed an extensive client bank from within the Hemel Hempstead area and is well liked by them for his friendly and attentive manner.
Neil is originally from London and is a passionate Arsenal supporter.
Gabi Kárai
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
She enjoys escaping to work from her twin daughters and teenage son. She also likes travelling and doing arts and crafts in her free time.
Iain Summers
Protection Advisor and Financial Services Paraplanner
His time at One Stop is split between two roles. As a Protection Adviser he helps ensure that our clients are adequately insured against unforeseen circumstances such as death, critical illness or being unable to work.
Iain also supports the other advisers selling mortgages, investments, protection, and pensions by helping to research suitable products to ensure that they fit the specific needs and circumstances of our clients.
He is an ardent Tottenham Hotspur supporter and enjoys running and spending time with his family in his spare time.
Wendy Balzan
Buildings & Contents Insurance Manager
Wendy graduated from the University of Leeds with a Degree in Mathematics and has since had Senior positions with Blue Chip Companies including Avery Dennison and Mars Confectionery.
Wendy is a passionate Luton Town supporter and also enjoys spending her free time with her husband Tony and 2 Daughters.
Sue Derrick
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
Sue joined the One Stop team as a para-planner in April 2018, to gain knowledge and experience in the Financial Services Industry, and then became a fully qualified Mortgage & Protection Advisor in October 2019. Sue likes to build good relationships with her clients and finds it incredibly rewarding to help first-time buyers get on the property ladder. She has also gained good experience in the Buy-to-Let market, mainly working with Portfolio Landlords.
Sue is originally from North London, although relocated to Whitstable, Kent, in 2021. She loves walks along the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets.

Marc became a fully qualified Mortgage and Protection adviser in July 2018 and has good experience working predominantly with first time buyers on their house purchases and helping many clients obtain their dream home. Marc likes to build good relationships with his clients and has gone from strength to strength in giving advice and helping to deliver solutions for his client’s mortgage and Protection needs.
He is originally from North London and supports Arsenal FC but is also half Italian with a love for Inter Milan and Pasta.

Becky works remotely from Bristol and as well as dealing with existing One Stop clients, she has also started to offer her services and that of the company across the Bristol area.
Becky is active in the community and supports her son’s school in fund raising activities. She is very family orientated with her son and daughter are at the heart of everything she does.
